Why We Love the Decatur BBQ, Blues, & Bluegrass Festival

At Pak and McRae Law, LLC, we love the big-time Atlanta food and music celebrations. To us, though, there is nothing like the annual Decatur Barbecue, Blues, & Bluegrass Festival. We look forward to the music, the food, and the fun all year long. What’s more, it’s just around the corner, with Aug. 15 quickly approaching!

Held in Downtown Decatur, this is the best place to find good southern BBQ food, soulful blues music, and the hottest bluegrass bands in Georgia.

We love watching as our beloved Decatur becomes a destination for many throughout the Atlanta metro area. This festival is top-notch, and we love attending and participating.

Gunner can’t walk past a barbecue stand to save his life, and Sam loves hanging out with his dog outside and listening to good old bluegrass music.

Food

This year, there will be food from the Fox Brothers, Williamson Bros BBQ, and Sweet Auburn BBQ.

Bands

The following bands will be playing at the 2015 festival:

  • Beverly Guitar Watkins
  • Dappled Grays
  • Sailing to Denver
  • Lockdown Blues Band
  • Michelle Malone
  • Seven Handle Circus
About the Festival

This has been a tried and true Decatur tradition since 2000, founded by the Decatur Preservation Alliance. The organization was trying to save the old train depot, so they closed off the street, found a few bands, and held a fundraiser to raise money and gather funds for the structure.

What started as a few bands playing on a closed off street has now become a large annual event. The festival is held on the 630 East Lake lot, providing space for the thousands of annual attendees.

Tickets

If you buy your tickets now, they are only $10. They will be $20 on the day of the festival.

See you on August 15!
